IT Department now displaying PAN status on updated 26AS Form
As the last date for linking PAN and aadhar with late fees ended on 30th June 2023. So with effect from 1st July 2023 the PAN holder whose PAN is not linked with his aadhar that PAN has become inoperative. However that PAN can become operative after making prescribed late fees.
Process to verify status of PAN is available on income tax efiling portal, but Now a PAN holder can also see their status of PAN on updated form 26AS.
26AS is a form available on income tax portal for every taxpayer containing financial transaction of each year.
