Process to Re-issue Income Tax Pending Refund
Despite of so many commitments from the income tax department to earliest processing of Income tax Return and Refund, many taxpayers kept facing issue of pending income tax refund from the department; Many taxpayers have years long Income Tax Refund Pending with the department.
When all the details are correctly furnished by the taxpayer, the only option left with taxpayer to follow-up with the department, However there are so many cases where income tax refunds are pending with department because of the incomplete or incorrect details furnished with the department, mainly mismatches in bank details when ITR processed with refund. When ITR is not processed with refund while you filed ITR by claiming Refund, then that is separate case to rectify tax mismatches with the department.
But when ITR processed with refund and it got failed or pending with department for long time in these cases mostly reason to failure of refund is mismatches in bank details.
IT refunds are issued to those account only which is validated and enabled for issue of refund at income e-filing tax portal, so it’s important for the taxpayer to check their bank account details whether its validated at income tax portal or not.
In recent time many banks have merged due to this the IFSC code of the bank got changed, in that case the bank details which was valid earlier becomes invalid now because of change in IFSC code, there are other reason to not validating the bank account is incomplete KYC or KYC not updated with the bank such as if name as per PAN database and bank account does not match then bank details will not validate on portal and your refund will be kept on hold.
So before proceeding to re-issue request of refund it’s important to furnish correct bank details at IT portal and validate it.
The Process to Re-Issue income tax refund is quiet simple which you can understand in following steps;-
Process to Re-issue Income Tax Refund
Step-1: Login to Income Tax e-filing Portal
Step-2: after login under services tab click on Refund Reissue
Step-3: Next page will allow you to “Create Refund Reissue Request”
(Note: Refund Re-issue request can only be created if there is failure of IT Refund)
Step-4: when you click on “Create Refund Reissue Request” next page will appear with details of all failed refund, it contains ITR Acknowledgement number, Assessment and also reason for failure of refund. You just need to select a particular Acknowledgement number and continue
Step-5: Next page will allow you to select bank account where you wanted IT refund. Select correct bank account and proceed to verification
Step-6: To verify Refund Reissue request you can either verify it with Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) or Aadhar OTP or with Electronic Verification Code (EVC) generated through Net banking or Bank account or Demat Account. Select the appropriate verification option, verify it and submit Refund re-issue request
