GST intel wing launches Operation White Pepper to check tax evasion in Wayanad resorts
Kerala GST Department Intelligence wing launched ‘Operation White Pepper’ where all the major resorts in wayanad district are being raided based on tip-off that several tax evasions are happening on those resorts.
The department had identified 20 resorts with high turnover and raided 5 resorts. on inspection identified tax evasion of more than 20 crores.
GST Deputy Commissioner (Intelligence) said major resorts in the city raise bill for much smaller amount than actual amount charged from customer. The department will continue to raid other resorts in coming days.
